whew,
well i've got a lot of knitting done although i've been really bad at putting in on here. my husband finally came home from iraq and i've been more busy with him. so now i've finally taken pics of the stuff i've done and what i'm working on...
....so....
let's get to it. first up is my finished vintage pink cardigan.

specs:
pattern: vintage pink cardigan by norah gaughan in IK spring 05
yarn: 2 skeins yarn bee baby sweet delight in baby red
needles: 1, 3
start: july 2007
finish: January 18, 2008
mods: i did the whole thing in the round. i put this on hold though a few months ago though when i was finished it in sept last year. so finally i picked it back up earlier this month and i ripped back to the point where i combined the arms with the body. i decided to continue in raglan shaping. and tada!! it came out perfectly. i wear this thing all the time. i put on some temporary buttons just so i can wear it around now but now i kind of like them...not sure yet.
ok now for the next cardigan i've finished recently.

specs:
pattern: beatrix by kim hargreaves
yarn: 7 skeins rowan felted tweed in sh150
needles: 3,5
start: october 07
finished: january 18, 2008
mods: again, i did this in the round and i ended up using a raglan shaping again with this one. because i did it in the round and because of the shaping i ended up using only 7 skeins of the recommended 8. so i have a ball and a half left over. so besides those few modifications that's it. i followed everything else. i really like this sweater. although not so much the yarn, it's kinda itchy.
and now i'm working on another sweater, this one for luke. he's told me before that he wants a sweater that resembles the old military ones from wwII. he told me he saw one he likes at banana republic but was not willing to pay so much for it. so of course he calls in his knitting sweatshop lady to help him out. haha. so i've decided to make the seamless saddle shoulder. i followed the directions from EZ knitting without tears. but after finishing my first sleeve i really didn't like it. the pattern says to increase every 5th row but that made to much of a sharp increase. i was onto the second sleeve already before it dawned on me "duh! i can just redo it!". so i just frogged the second sleeve i was already working on and increased every 7 rows. wow, what a difference that little bit made. i'm using cascade 220 in col no 7821. it's a really nice army brown color that he picked out.
here you can see the first sleeve underneath and how sharp the increase was. the new one is on top.

Wow, I'm always impressed with the sweaters you whip up. And I'm so glad to hear your husband has returned safely!
